Miccoli bagged a brace in Palermo’s 3-1 win over Chievo last weekend to take his tally for the season to 15 goals.
But despite his phenomenal season, the diminutive hitman looks likely to miss out on this summer's showpiece event in South Africa, leaving Zamparini perplexed.
“It’s a bit like the situation with Antonio Cassano and Mario Balotelli,” the patron told the Corriere dello Sport newspaper.
“They are exceptionally gifted players who are not in the national team and it’s difficult for them to force their way in.
